Workshop with Barbara Cashman " Silkemat "

In this workshop you will learn all about Silkemat - directly from the inventor of this wonderful material.

SilkeMat® is a NON-CARCINOGENIC refractory fiber mat that can be cut, shaped, stiffened and formed. It can be used with or without stiffeners. A high quality boron nitride separator is recommended to achieve a cleaner release from the glass when the temperature of 760°C is exceeded with solidified SilkeMat®. This product contains no "shot" (tiny pieces of silica) and most firings are clean, leaving only the structure of the fibers on the glass. A respirator is NOT required to cut or work with SilkeMat®.

In this product training and workshop you will create a working sample, which we will fuse after the glass fair and send with your next delivery.

The workshop will be held in ENGLISH.
